| Many of you will be aware that during
the 2007 Brisbane to Gladstone race the Energex helicopter was
called in for two events:
To extract one of our members - Tony
Eppell - from Phil and Heather Day's boat Rhythmic following the
capsize of Richard Jenkins' The Dancing Emu; and to attend at the
retrieval by Renaissance of the crew of Rogntudjuuu.

In the latter
the helicopter did not effect a retrieval but did use a novel
technique for moving a life raft - those on board reckon it was one
of the best, if most expensive blow dries you can get!
The
retrieval from Rhythmic was achieved with a display of precision
flying by the pilot together with consummate athleticism and skill
by the diver and paramedic.

| The dropping of the line and flight
matching were spectacular sights and were achieved from a boat on
a bumpy ocean still with full rig in place. perhaps the days of
cutting away rigs or jumping into the briny to enable retrieval
has passed (or perhaps it still applies to monohulls). |
