Endeavour Volunteer Guides
The magnificent replica of Captain James Cook famous ship of
discovery Endeavour will be visiting the Brisbane docks from 29th August
to 01st September 2008. To ensure the smooth functioning of this event,
we are looking for “Volunteer Guides” to provide visitors with an
accurate interpretation of the Endeavour Replica and assist visitors on

MYCQ at F18 Worlds
At the F18 Worlds currently under way at Nigran in
Spain, the MYCQ is being represented by Phil Holman
and crew Jenny Richards.
Phil and Jenny found the going a bit tough among
the Tornado hotshots and Olympians in the first rounds
and are now battling it out in the Plate division.

Launceston to Hobart Race
Rob Remilton has alerted us to the news that the
Launceston to Hobart race has a multihull division.
Now in its second year, the Clive Peeters L2H is
firmly established on the Australian off shore racing
calendar.
This premier sailing event is a 280 nm race that
will start on the 27th of December 2008 off the mouth
of the Tamar River and finish at Castray Esplanade in
Hobart sharing the same finish line as the Heemskirk
Consolidated Melbourne/Hobart and Rolex Sydney/Hobart

Yachting Australia CEO, Phil Jones comments on ISAF's 2012 Olympic Events Decision
Yachting Australia is very disappointed over the decision taken by ISAF in May 2008 on the 2012 Olympic Events. Despite the majority of Council members voting not to reaffirm the decision taken last November, which saw both the Multihull and Women's High Performance Dinghy excluded, the 2/3rd majority required to reopen the issue was not achieved.
