Endeavour Volunteer Guides 

  
Dear members of Multihull Yacht Club:

 

The magnificent replica of Captain James Cook famous ship of discovery Endeavour will be visiting the Brisbane docks from 29th August to 01st September 2008. To ensure the smooth functioning of this event, we are looking for “Volunteer Guides” to provide visitors with an accurate interpretation of the Endeavour Replica and assist visitors on board.

A brief job description is given below. If you would like to register your interest and be a part of this exciting adventure please call Volunteering Queensland on 07 3002 7600 and ask for Nyanza to book an interview. If, after the interview, you are considered suitable for the role, an application form will be given to you.

Job Title:

ANMM Regional Volunteer Endeavour Guide

 

Objective:

To provide visitors with an accurate interpretation of the Endeavour replica and assist visitors on board.

 

Time Commitment:

Ideally a minimum of one full day (9-30am to 5-30pm) or part day, during Endeavour’s stay in port. 
Endeavour will visit Brisbane from the 29 August 2008 to 01st September 2008.

 

Tasks:

  • Provide guiding services to Endeavour visitors, on and off the vessel. Guides may also be required for special interest tours and group tours.
  • Provide feedback to your supervisor on OH&S incidents and other issues of concern.
  • Inform visitors to Endeavour of merchandise, if available.
  • Record the number of visitors on Endeavour tours, if required.
  • Assist visitors on Endeavour to have a positive experience
